Nexus Client Dignity Network Canada screened "Pride Vs. Prejudice: The Delwin Vriend Story", a documentary about a gay Alberta teacher whose wrongful dismissal became a pivotal moment in Canadian LGBTQI+ rights history.

Director Darrin Hagen attended the screening alongside a distinguished panel including Bennett (BJ) Jensen, Director of Legal; Doug Kerr, Executive Director of Dignity Network Canada; Ontario Superior Court Justice Cynthia Petersen; and human rights lawyer Lyle Kanee, who served as an intervener in the original Vriend v. Alberta case.

The screening coincided with Pride celebrations, highlighting ongoing efforts to advance LGBTQI+ rights and inclusion. The documentary served as both historical record and reminder of the legal battles that secured fundamental protections for sexual minorities in Canada.

Arthur Lam, Brett Thalmann and the whole Nexus team want to wish everyone a Happy Pride, and salute those who have worked hard – and continue to work hard – to make Canada and the world a safer and more inclusive place.
